Society Of Undervalued Lives
The “Society of Undervalued Lives (SOUL)” project began, like so many good things, with a bet — betting a soul.
Then the question became, how do people value their souls? Would people store their souls? This is not a Faustian
bargain: the souls were returned upon either party’s demise, or upon request in writing.
Teams of soul storage agents canvased streets and events in light blue SOUL tee shirts. These recruiters required each person wishing to store his
or her soul to sign an agreement dictating the rights of each party. One copy of this soul agreement was given to the
person agreeing to storage, and the other copy was stored in a book hand bound and displayed by the artist.
